Avon architect honored by professional group

AVON, Colorado - Christopher J. Green, president of Avon-based architectural firm Ago Studios, Inc., has been elevated to the College of Fellows in The American Institute of Architects. The honor is awarded to group members who have made significant contributions to the design profession. The group elevated 122 members to the college this year, and Green was among only four in Colorado to receive the distinction.

Green was recognized for his "notable contribution to the advancement of the profession of architecture." That contribution includes his leadership in the national group's effort to help create the first-ever resource-conservation code in the United States. Green also contributed content for the institute's recently published "An Architect's Guide to Integrating Energy Modeling in the Design Process."

"It is a significant honor to receive this recognition from colleagues within the AIA for whom I have enormous respect," Green said. "When we start on adventures within our profession, we never know where they will lead, and in this instance, the efforts I have contributed as a member of AIA have been recognized beyond what I considered possible."
