Edwards' Manic Training celebrates one-year anniversary

EDWARDS, Colorado - For the growing number of Manic Training members, February has been a milestone month. The local training program is celebrating its one-year anniversary as being a part of the Vail Valley. Endurance athlete Andy Picking brought the popular training method to the area and opened up the facility in Edwards last February. With new classes having been added to the schedule to accommodate more members, this uncomplicated but proven training regime has created a buzz in the athletic community and has been growing ever since.

"We are very excited to be celebrating a successful first year with all our members," Picking said. "We have found a great balance between our members and our group of trainers who really understand the principles of Manic Training as well as the different pursuits of the local community here and what they like to do athletically and recreationally."

Manic programs are designed to increase strength, power, work capacity and durability for real world challenges. Recently, Manic Reconditioning Classes were added, which provide a mix of stretching, mobility and yoga balanced to aid in recovery from Manic Sessions or any hard workout. Over the past year, Manic Training has sponsored members in the Teva Mountain Summer Games, Tough Mudder and will be entering a team in the upcoming Steamboat Pentathlon.

"Our members not only like to work out with us here in the gym but also like to have fun and compete together outside of Manic," said Manic trainer Ryan McCombs. "We have seen many members find new friends with similar interests from their Manic classes."

Classes are held six days a week with the majority of the class times occurring on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Manic encourages member referrals and offers a generous referral program. All new members receive their first week of membership free.
