Workshop offers tips for business owners

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado - "Listening to your Business," a six-hour workshop, part of the Kauffman Foundation's FastTrac programming, will be offered later this month by the Vail Leadership Institute. The workshop will help business owners and organizational leaders to evaluate and measure their business strategies and help answer the question, "Where do I want my business to go, and how do I make it happen?"

More than 40 people have participated in this workshop over the past six months. The workshop serves as the entry point into the Kauffman Foundation's entrepreneurial eco-system with access to their vast Resource Center.

"If you're like me, business ideas race through my head all day long," said previous participant Rich Staats. "The hard part is getting them into some sort of workable system. Listening to your business is a great program for taking the big picture of your business and breaking it down into the actionable steps that will guide you toward that goal."

Any current business owner, key executive or manager, any early-stage entrepreneur, or a nonprofit executive will find value in this exercise. The workshop is an opportunity to get away from the day-to-day pressures allowing leaders to work on their business rather than in their business.

The workshop will be held on March 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Edwards Interfaith Library. The tuition is $125 and includes a FastTrac workbook, access the Kauffman Resource Center and lunch.
