Egg-cellent opportunities in Eagle, Gypsum this Saturday

For local kids on the hunt for Easter eggs, there's a full slate of activities planned downvalley on Saturday, March 30.

Here's the details:

What: Free for kids up to age 10, come rain or shine. Bring your own basket. The hunt will be divided by age groups.

When: Saturday, March 30

Time: 10 a.m.

Where: Eagle Town Park

Details: Following the traditional egg hunt, the Eggernaut competition is planned for kids up to age 12. Participants build a protective contraption around an egg and the entries are dropped from a 30-foot high Greater Eagle Fire Department truck ladder. Event sponsors are the town of Eagle, Yeik Flooring and Beveridge Real Estate.

What: Free hunt for kids ages 2 to 12 years old with more than 7,500 candy and toy-filled eggs followed by a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Breakfast donations will be collected to benefit the Eagle Valley High School Cheerleaders

When: Saturday, March 30

Time: 10 a.m.

Where: Gypsum Town Hall Park

Details: Kids activities are planned in the park before and after the hunt. Sponsored by the town of Gypsum, Gypsum Recreation Center, the Gypsum Chamber, Gypsum Garden Center and the Gypsum Fire Department

What: Underwater egg hunt for all swimming abilities.

When: Saturday, March 30

Time: 11 a.m.

Where: Gypsum Recreation Center

Details: Kids ages 2 to 10 years can participate and parents can swim with younger children. All participants must bring a swimsuit and a parent. There will be staggered start times for different age groups and there will be a special prize awarded for all groups to the child who finds the special golden egg. Cost is free for rec center members and $5 for non-members. For more information, call 777-8888.
