VAIL — Spring is considered to be a time of awakening; a chance to create space and shed layers. Beginning March 19, certified Ayurvedic wellness consultant Julia Clarke leads her signature 30-Day Ayurvedic Detox program at the Vail Vitality Center, designed to reawaken the body’s natural power to heal and experience true vitality. Ayurveda, the ancient tradition of self-care, offers a refreshingly simple philosophy for cultivating individual health making it the ideal celebration of springtime in the Vail Valley.
Clarke’s 30-Day Ayurvedic Detox program offers a supportive group setting and is designed to recalibrate and reeducate each participant’s body on how to eat through a guided detox using cleansing diet and procedures. The program also includes weekly meetings to discuss the principals of Ayurveda and group classes to incorporate regular yoga and cardio conditioning.
“The true power of this program lies in its simplicity; it reconnects us to a healthy relationship with real food, and it’s absolutely doable for everybody,” Clarke said. “The group support and finite period of time also produce really high levels of success and quite spectacular results. Our participants don’t only transform physically, but they feel better than they’ve felt in years.”
Ayurveda is a science of health and healing that has been practiced in India for thousands of years. This ancient science recognizes poor digestion as the root of all disease, and makes diet and lifestyle recommendations specific to an individual’s unique body type to maximize nutrient absorption, diminish allergies, encourage weight loss, increase energy, improve overall vitality and sleep and cultivate joy.
“I can’t tell you how much this cleanse has changed my life,” said participant Liz Koskinen, who attended the session offered last October. “Even though I don’t follow it every day and for every meal, I still feel that the foundational tools I learned doing the cleanse have taught me enough to make lasting effects to my body and my life. For the first time in years, I truly, truly feel healthy and confident in my body.”
The 30-Day Ayurvedic Detox program includes delicious recipes, informative lectures, individual body comp analysis, guided meditation and yoga and cardio classes. The group meets on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at the Vail Vitality Center, located at Vail Mountain Lodge.
