VAIL — The Vail Resorts annual Ski Patrol vs. Ski School charity hockey game was held on March 19 at Dobson Ice Arena. It was an exciting game that ended with Ski School defeating Ski Patrol, 3-0.
More than 500 people attended the event that raised more than $5,500 solely through suggested donations at the door. Event proceeds will benefit two Vail Resorts employees who recently experienced a medical crisis.
The event is in its 25th year after gaining its start during the 1989 World Alpine Ski Championships. For 21 years, it was an informal springtime hockey game between Vail Ski Patrol and Ski School. It has evolved into an annual fundraiser for the Vail Valley Charitable Fund to support Vail Resorts employees in need.
The Vail Valley Charitable Fund would like to thank everyone that made this event possible, including Vail Resorts, Dobson Ice Arena, Ski School and Ski Patrol players, event attendees who generously donated to the cause, the referees and Vail Resorts employees who organized the event.
