Tamale Festival going on now at Maya

AVON — This spring, Maya’s modern Mexican kitchen and tequila bar will host the Maya Tamale Festival through May 31. Tamales are a traditional Latin American dish that have long been served at feasts. La Futura ($11) — Agavales reposado tequila, ginger liqueur, agave nectar and pineapple juice.

Tamale sampler ($17) — Served with specially selected 3-ounce beer pairings from Crazy Mountain Brewery.

Chicken tinga tamale with tomatillo salsa — paired with Mountain Livin’ Pale Ale.

Sweet corn tamale with queso fresco — paired with La Rubia Blonde Ale.
