VAIL — The town of Vail’s Art in Public Places is exhibiting work by 15 local artists in the Vail Public Library’s community room through Aug. 30. The exhibition includes oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, as well as photography.
The Community Collective Exhibition is a result of the public art initiative between Art in Public Places and the Vail Public Library to prominently display art by Eagle County artists above the library’s fireplace.
“We are delighted to collectively showcase our local talent who applied for this initiative over the past year for our guests and residents to enjoy as well,” said Molly Eppard, Art in Public Places coordinator.
The 15 artists who have work on display are: Peter Behrendt, Charmayne Bernhardt, Steve Chinn, Mike Crabtree, Philip Frank, Karen Kalfas, Steve Kiene, Elaine Kuntz, Joann Levy, Fletcher MacNeil, Hazel Murray, Joan Norris, Nancy Rondeau, Christine Sena and Joan Willoughby.
PICK YOUR FAVORITE
The public is invited to select the next work to be displayed over the fireplace through a People’s Choice Award. A ballot box is located within the exhibition, so that you can cast your vote. This chosen work will be the next work of art on view above the fireplace within the library.
