VAIL — Help children throughout Eagle County “Dare To Dream” of a brighter future by buying a ticket for the Vail Valley Foundation’s Youth Foundation’s fifth annual Star Dancing Gala.
Scheduled for July 18, the star-studded affair will once again feature dance performances, showcasing notable local “celebrities” and professional dancers. Modeled after the television hit “Dancing With The Stars,” each couple will showcase a different genre of dance.
Getting underway at 5:30 p.m. at the Vail Valley Jet Center in Gypsum, the 2013 edition of Star Dancing Gala will also feature performances by local children currently participating in Vail Valley Foundation Youth Foundation programs, along with a number of one-of-a-kind auction items. All proceeds will benefit the Youth Foundation’s mission of fostering growth, development and success of children throughout the community.
“This year’s theme is ‘Dare to Dream: Change the World’,” said Susie Davis, vice president of education for the Vail Valley Foundation. “Thanks to the generous support of our Star Dancing Gala participants, we are able to challenge our local youth to continue to dream big, knowing that we can help change their world.”
The 2013 Star Dancing Gala celebrity lineup includes Becky Hernreich, Kathryn Hubbard, Han Kang, Sarah Millett, Russell Molina, Chupa Nelson, Ann Newman, Nick Sagar and Carter Strauss.
Professional dancers donating their time and talents will include Maria Barry, Reason Galt, Connie Kincaid-Strahan, Colin Meiring, Meredith Steinke and Beth Swearingen.
While dancing will obviously rule center stage, the Star Dancing Gala also boasts a number of great auction items, including a luxury week in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; a Kelly Liken Fly Fishing and Colorado Culinary experience and a VIP sledding extravaganza.
“This wonderful evening doesn’t end with dancing,” Davis said. “The effects of Star Dancing Gala are experienced daily all year through opportunities for local children. This is what constantly reminds us to continue to dare to dream.”
