Harvard doctor to discuss secrets to reducing stress on Wednesday in Vail

VAIL — Wouldn’t it be incredible if the secrets to reducing stress and minimizing anxiety lie in treatments that are readily available and easily accessible? According to Harvard-trained board certified physician and Harvard Medical School faculty member Nada Milosavljevic, they are — and have been for thousands of years.

Milosavljevic shares findings from a two-year (and ongoing) research study using integrative treatment modalities, including medical acupuncture, essential oil aromatherapy and sound treatments, to reduce anxiety and stress in adolescents.

The results are inspiring.

During an educational lecture on Wednesday, participants will learn how these alternative treatments can lower anxiety levels by almost one third and increase general wellness by 40 percent.

The session begins with a 20 minute meditation led by the Vail Vitality Center’s Karen Anderson, and continues with breakfast at Terra Bistro and the lecture with stress biology and integrative medicine treatments specialist Dr. Milosavljevic.

Milosavljevic practices integrative medicine for cognitive and behavioral conditions. She has specialty certification in functional and regenerative medicine, medical acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbs. Her training involves the use of evidence-based treatments that include: nutritional supplements; bio-identical hormone therapies; herbs; pharmaceutical-grade aromatherapy; and light and sound therapy. Milosavljevic is the founder and director of the Integrative Health Program at Massachusetts General Hospital.

The Vail Vitality Center offers individual diagnostics and guided intensive regimens, tailored group retreat programs and workshop opportunities year-round. For more information visit www.vailvitalitycenter.com or call 970-476-7960.
