BEAVER CREEK — Halloween is back at the Vilar Performing Arts Center this year, with the Motet presents MIXTAPE: 1980 on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to get their costumes and their groove on for what promises to be a great show and great party. Last year, The Motet brought the ’70s to the Vilar Center with Parliament Funkadelic; this year, they’ll move to the year 1980 to take their inspiration.
The band is compiling some of the most booty shaking funk, rock, R&B, soul and, of course, plenty of hits from the year 1980 to create a slamming night of dance music and improvisation. The Motet’s signature sound and vibe, arranged with the music of 1980, promises to make the 2013 Colorado Halloween run some of the most interesting and fun shows in The Motet’s history. Plus, the band will be inviting some special guest musicians for these amazing nights of music.
In celebration of the band and the holiday, the Vilar Center is holding a costume contest. Fans are encouraged to email photos of themselves in their favorite costume to email@example.com. The best costume wins fan tickets to the show plus a meet-and-greet with the band! The winner will be announced Oct. 28.
“This is by far one of the most fun, energetic and unique shows that we host at the Vilar Center each year,” said Kris Sabel, executive director for the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “We love the energy and the vibe that The Motet brings to their stage, and we can’t wait for you to come celebrate Halloween with us.”
Tickets to The Motet presents: MIXTAPE 1980 are $25 in advance and $30 day of show and are available online at vilarpac.org, by phone at 970-845-TIXS or in person at the VPAC Box Office in Beaver Creek.
