14th Annual Mardi Gras Ball Supports St. Clare and Vail Christian Schools

BEAVER CREEK — On Saturday evening, a sell-out crowd of revelers enjoyed the 14th annual Mardi Gras Ball at the transformed Park Hyatt Beaver Creek to celebrate the successes of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School and Vail Christian High School. In a truly cooperative fashion, the two school communities worked together to host this event. St. Clare of Assisi School's principal sister, Marirose Rudek, and Head of School's at Vail Christian High School, Jeremy Lowe, along with their board of directors thanked the entire parent community and the event leadership team.

Hard Work, Support

"From our hearts, all of us at St. Clare of Assisi School say 'thank you' for the many ways in which you continue to support us by prayer, by generously giving of your talents and by your monetary support. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifices you continue to make to help keep our school alive and well," Rudek said.

Monsignor Bob Kinkel extended his gratitude to event chairperson Inga Causey for her tireless work in making the huge undertaking come together with apparent ease and grace. Causey in turn expressed her sincere thanks to her entire volunteer community, including Atlanta Meynier, Susan Santaniello, Shelly Shanley, Kim Schramm, Stacey Coulter, Heather Hughes, Angela Lavele, Kristen Pryor and Karen Poage.

"We could not have made this event happen without all of the hard work of the Event Leadership Team and parent support," Causey said.

This year's Mardi Gras Ball had a new twist with gambling at the "Riverboat Casino," raffle prizes including an Epic Ski Pass and $250 Karats Jewelers gift certificate. The live auction was exciting and boasted trips to South Africa for a safari and the American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Nicole Judge was excited for her family who had the winning bid on a trip to the Kennedy Space Center in Orlando.

"Brian has always wanted to take the family to the Space Center," Judge said. The trip includes lunch with a NASA astronaut, viewing 10-story-high rockets and a four-night stay at Hyatt Place Hotels in Orlando.

With too many silent and live auction items to mention, suffice it to say that the communities of St. Clare of Assisi and Vail Christian High School are grateful to all of the 14th Annual Mardi Gras donors, sponsors, underwriters and volunteers. Your generosity is an investment in the future of these fine schools.
