MINTURN — Compression and misalignment in your spine can be a pain in the back, and it my be time for an adjustment. Holy Cross Chiropractic in Minturn, owned and operated by Dr. Christopher Davis, has been open since the beginning of January.

“I strive to integrate (chiropractic) techniques,” said Davis, who has been practicing in Colorado for nine years. “In doing so, I customize treatment plans to meet patient’s needs more effectively.”

Davis offers traditional chiropractic work, dry needling, physiotherapies like neck and back compression, kinesio-taping, cold lasers, integrated massage and sacro-occipital therapy.

The sacro-occipital methodology stabilizes the spine and pelvis to assist with maintaining the normal balance of the sacral pump mechanism — the gentle pulsing action of cerebro-spinal fluid from the brain through the nervous system.

“Our living reality operates in the four and half millions of nerves that serve to adapt us in our environments,” Davis said. “Within this system of nerves dwells our innate abilities to heal ourselves to the level of our receptivity. Thoughts or stress, toxins and trauma inhibit these nerves.”

When a patient comes in for a tune-up, Davis explained, his intention is to restore function to their lives using chiropractic methodologies, acupuncture and/or physiotherapies.

He offers a cerebral adjustment, which offers health restoration for the body by opening nerve channels in the spine. This allows the body to maintain health and heal itself when necessary.

The clinic also offers a decompression table, which helps provide spinal decompression.

“Spinal decompression therapy is for the treatment of degenerative joint and disc disease,” Davis said. “This helps to take pressure off the nerves and rehydrate the disks; if disks are cracked or bulging, the integrated work pulls fluids from the inner tissues neighboring the disks to rehydrate them, and brings more volume into each disk.”

Holy Cross Chiropractic is located next to the Minturn post office, and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 970-688-5842 to set up a consultation or visit http://www.minturnchiro.com for more information.
