BEAVER CREEK — The Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek proudly welcomes back Alison Krauss & Union Station Friday, July 25 at 8:00 pm. In its last visit to the VPAC, the group was especially well-received with a hugely successful sold-out performance. Tickets go on sale Friday at 11 a.m.

Since signing with Rounder Records at the age of 14, the Alison Krauss has established herself as an absolute authority of her craft. The singer-songwriter has taken home an astounding 27 Grammy Awards, the most wins of any female artist in history and the second most of any recording artist of all time.

“When You Say Nothing At All,” “Whiskey Lullaby,” “Same Old Train” and “Baby Now That I’ve Found You” are just some of her extensive list of unforgettable hits. Krauss performed soundtracks on blockbuster films including “Oh Brother Where Art Thou,” “Cold Mountain” and “Twister.” She also collaborated with the esteemed rocker Robert Plant on her album “Rising Sand,” for which they won the Grammy Award Album of the Year in 2009.

“Paper Airplane” is the latest album in Krauss’ illustrious career. Recorded in partnership with her remarkably skillful and renowned band, Union Station, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard country, bluegrass and folk album charts upon its release.

Union Station is composed of five diverse artists who come together to form an exceptional sound. Headlined by renowned dobro player and vocalist Jerry Douglas, the group has collaborated with Krauss since the 1989 release of “Two Highways.” Like family, Union Station has grown together throughout the years and complemented Krauss with its extraordinary talent.
