EAGLE-VAIL — Beginning Friday, Revolution Power Yoga is holding a weekend of learning anatomy and physiology through experiential learning and yoga. The workshop will give participants tools to prevent injury and improve physical healing.

The Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga weekend is lead by Darren Taylor and Kristi Taylor. The sessions will teach the basics of anatomy and physiology, how this knowledge can help with injury prevention, healing an injury, how to apply this to your body and your personal yoga practice.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Darren Taylor is a certified chiropractic sports practitioner and former pro hockey player, now yoga practitioner. Kristi Taylor is a yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga for over 10 years. Through yoga practice and instruction, they will help you gain a better understanding of your body, create sustainability in your practice and learn the science behind yoga.

There are six individual classes that together will help participants learn more about the body and how it functions. Attendance to all six classes is recommended for the most thorough experience, but participants are welcome to pick and choose individual classes to attend as well.

WEEKEND Schedule

Friday

5:30 to 9 p.m.: Applied anatomy and physiology for a yogi.

Saturday

8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Injury prevention and healing session one (covers feet, knees, pelvis and hips).

1:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Injury prevention and healing session two (covers back, shoulders and neck).

6 to 8 p.m.: Anatomy and physiology of poses.

Sunday

8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Anatomy and physiology of poses.

1:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Science of alignment and activation.

5 to 7 p.m.: Q&A session.
