Bravo! Vail’s Soiree Series gets underway on July 16

VAIL — Bravo! Vail announced today that reservations for The Linda & Mitch Hart Soirée Series are now being accepted. The Soirée Series features four private performances in four spectacular homes throughout the Vail Valley. The design of each evening allows artists and guests to enjoy a sumptuous meal and outstanding chamber music together. Soirée dates include July 16 – String Trio Soirée, featuring members of the New York Philharmonic; July 21 – An Evening with Bramwell Tovey, with the conductor, composer and musical raconteur at the piano; July 26 – Haydn and Weber Soirée, featuring the Dover Quartet; and August 1 – The French Impressionist, featuring members of the New York ensemble, Le Train Bleu.
Each soirée includes cocktails, a concert, and a gourmet dinner served by famous area chefs. Featured chefs include Chef Daniel Joly of Mirabelle at Beaver Creek (July 16), Chef Jean-Michel Chelain of The Left Bank (July 21), Chef Tracey van Curan of Foods of Vail (July 26), and Chef Eric Berg of Vail Catering Concepts (August 1). An Evening with Bramwell Tovey — Grammy award-winning music director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and founding host and conductor of the New York Philharmonic's Summertime Classics series — promises to be a highlight of the season. This soirée on Monday, July 21 at the Krasnow Residence in Cordillera features the ever-charming Maestro Tovey performing solo piano works, while no doubt entertaining patrons with engaging anecdotes.

The July 26 soirée at the Precourt Residence in Lake Creek showcases Haydn's String Quartet in G major performed by one of Bravo! Vail's young artists-in-residence groups, the Dover Quartet, which The New Yorker recently styled "the young American string quartet of the moment." Joining this illustrious soirée is the New York Philharmonic's Principal Clarinet Stephen Williamson, featured in Weber's Clarinet Quartet, almost a mini-concerto for that instrument and strings.

Bravo! Vail's 2014 soirée season ends with an evening celebrating one of the great Impressionists, Claude Debussy. This soirée on August 1 at the Brownstein and Tannebaum Residence in Buffehr Creek, Vail features members of the New York ensemble Le Train Bleu, a musical collective formed by conductor and flutist Ransom Wilson. The musicians of Le Train Bleu are among the most exciting young players in New York, and are chosen for their brilliance as well as their expressive qualities. At this final soirée of the season, they perform varied works by Debussy, as well as J.S. Bach and Paquito D'Rivera.

Bravo! Vail soirées offer the unique opportunity to enjoy chamber music in the type of intimate setting for which it was originally conceived and performed. Each soirée begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, during which hors d'oeuvres, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks are served. At approximately 6:45 p.m., a specially prepared chamber music program is performed by Bravo! Vail's internationally renowned chamber and concerto artists. A seated dinner follows the performance, where patrons will have the opportunity to relax and get to know each other and the artists.
