BOND — Campout for the Cause celebrates its sixth anniversary by returning May 23-25 riverside to Rancho Del Rio in Bond. Campout for the Cause is a boutique music and yoga gathering featuring two stages, 25 artists, 10 yoga instructors, camping, workshops and classes. This is the first time in four years that Campout for the Cause hosts the entire event at Rancho Del Rio. Rancho is one of the last remaining gems of the West, surrounded by protected lands and the Colorado River, just 40 miles west of the Vail Valley.
Campout for the Cause was founded in 2009 with the inspiration to gather a community by the river, create a musical celebration and raise money for a charitable cause. This year marks the sixth annual Campout festival with proceeds going to nonprofit partners The Eagle Valley Land Trust and All Hands Volunteers. The Eagle Valley Land Trust is an environmental organization focused to preserving the open spaces, waterways and wildlife habitats that represent Eagle County and the Rocky Mountain region. All Hands provides hands-on disaster relief and organizes volunteers for communities in need locally and internationally.
Campout for the Cause has always focused on an eclectic musical lineup, appealing to a wide demographic and bringing people together through the bond of music. This year’s festival again represents musical diversity, spanning genres from gypsy rock, bluegrass, acoustic roots, jazz and indie pop. Colorado sweethearts Elephant Revival headline the weekend along with Paper Bird, Head for the Hills and special guest DJ Mark Farina performing his original Mushroom Jazz. Other acts rounding out the weekend’s lineup and performing on the two stages are Fruition, Wood and Wire, Bonfire Dub, The Mother Hips, Grant Farm, Sea Stars, Olora Brothers, Scott Law, The Congress, Tierro, Trout Steak Revival and Gipsy Moon. The acrobatic team from Denver Fractal Tribe will perform throughout the festival site, adding a colorful and theatrical element to the weekend.
Leave No Trace
Campout for the Cause has a strong leave-no-trace mission, focusing on sustainability, recycling, composting and preservation of the river. Hosting the festival at Rancho Del Rio, one of the most scenic riverside locations in the West, encourages fans to appreciate their natural surroundings and contribute to the protection of the land. Local CSAs will provide the option of fresh, organic fruit and produce each day and workshops will take place throughout the weekend teaching perma-culture, eco-landscaping and health and wellness.
Campout for the Cause encompasses all aspects of the healthy, outdoor Colorado lifestyle. The campgrounds sit on a grassy knoll next to the river with just a short walk to the main stage. The new yoga tent overlooks the Colorado River and yoga classes are included in the ticket price for the weekend. Multiple classes are scheduled each day ranging from sunrise flows and meditations to SUP yoga, transdance classes and vigorous vinyasa flows, accompanied with live music. Kids yoga classes will also be offered. Stand Up Paddle Colorado will be on-site providing discounted stand-up paddleboard tours and clinics for festival attendees.
There will be a variety of food options on-site with Moe’s BBQ and The Cilantro Truck offering hot BBQ and a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Campout for the Cause is supporting local Colorado business and partnering with Bonfire Brewing Co. and Breckenridge Distillery. Both will be featuring their products at the riverside bar and deck.
Campout for the Cause is a family friendly event with a designated family camping area, kids younger than 13 are free. Three-day festival tickets start at $99 and include camping, yoga and three days of music. Tickets are currently on sale exclusively through the festival website at www.campoutforthecause.org.
