‘Celebrity dancers’ announced for annual Star Dancing Gala
January 31, 2014
VAIL — Ten notable local "celebrities" from all walks of life will strut their stuff for a cause this summer as The Youth Foundation recently completed its selection process for the sixth annual Star Dancing Gala.
Scheduled for July 21 at the Vail Valley Jet Center in Gypsum, the six ladies and four men will team with dance professionals from the valley to learn, rehearse and perform a different genre of dance in a gala evening, modeled after the television hit show "Dancing with the Stars."
"Thanks to the generous support of our Star Dancing Gala participants, we are able to challenge our local youth to continue to dream big, knowing that we can help change their world," said Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation. "The ladies' list of celebrity dancers will include Amanda Precourt, Courtney O'Brien, Donna Martin, Alison McAdam, Renee Fleischer and Sarah Will, while their male counterparts will feature Misha Moritz, Aldo Radamus, Chad Fleischer and Jeff Kirwood. Professional dancers donating their time and talents will include Colin Meiring, Maria Barry, Meredith Steinke and Reason Galt.
'Time to Shine'
The 2014 edition of Star Dancing Gala will feature the theme of "Time to Shine," which speaks to the over-arching philosophy of The Youth Foundation that the most important thing that transcends all children is the gift of time; time to grow, time to explore and time to learn.
All proceeds from the Star Dancing Gala benefit the Youth Foundation's mission of fostering growth, development and success of children throughout the community.
Tickets for the sixth annual Star Dancing Gala will be priced at $250 each and will be available, along with online voting for your favorite celebrity dancer, at http://www.stardancing gala.com, beginning on March 3. Various event packages are also available.
The Youth Foundation is the educational arm of the Vail Valley Foundation. For additional information on the Youth Foundation, visit http://www.theyouthfoundation.org.
