BEAVER CREEK — Trace Adkins performs at the Vilar Performing Arts Center on Monday at 8 p.m. Adkins’ trademark baritone voice has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, cumulatively. The Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.” As a dedicated supporter of the troops, Adkins has performed as part of seven USO tours. The Vilar Center will donate $10 from every ticket sold to his Monday concert to the local Vail Veterans Program.
Tracy Darrell “Trace” Adkins made his debut on the country music scene in 1995 with the album “Dreamin’ Out Loud,” released on Capitol Records Nashville. Since then, Adkins has released seven studio albums and two greatest hits compilations. In addition, he has charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including hits “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “Chrome,” “Honkytonk Badonkadonk” and “You’re Gonna Miss This.”
“Trace Adkins is a perfect fit for our summer season; he joins a list of incredible musicians you don’t expect to see in an intimate 500 seat venue, and he is a perfect ambassador for our fundraising and awareness efforts for the Vail Veterans Program. We’re so pleased to play a small part in promoting their important work,” said Kris Sabel, Vilar Center executive director. “Trace Adkins’ work with the Wounded Warriors Program and countless USO tours demonstrates his commitment to these important men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
Vail Veterans Program Executive Director Cheryl Jensen reflects, “The VPAC’s support through this partnership with Mr. Adkins is extremely thoughtful and appreciated. It helps make a special night of music by a chart-topping country artist even more special. It’s yet another terrific example of how the VPAC continues to be an important community partner for not only our Vail Veterans Program but for countless others in the valley.”
Tickets to the concert are $125 and are on sale now at the Vilar Center Box Office (970-845-8497/www.vilarpac.org). The Vilar Center is located under the ice rink in Beaver Creek Village.
