EDWARDS — Dogma Athletica's 30 Days of Yoga is for yogis of all levels. Whether you are an advanced student wanting to delve deeper or just starting out and looking for a comprehensive introduction, this is a perfect opportunity.
Dogma Athletica "30 Days" classes are common because that is how long it takes to wire the brain to develop a new habit. Participants in this yoga-specific program can expect to shed a few negative habits (and pounds) — replacing them with positive, new patterns.
THE ROOT OF CHANGE
Understanding lies at the root of change, so participants will be asked to explore what it means to be themselves. Dogma Athletica's yoga director, Elena Georgouses, designed 30 Days of Yoga. In addition to over 30 years of experience studying yoga and Buddhism, Georgouses is a certified psychotherapist and life coach.
She currently runs a private practice in Vail in addition to her yoga director post. She designed this program to break self-limiting thoughts and behaviors through the vehicles of yoga practice, meditation, nutrition and journaling.
The program will offer different themes to create a strong foundation, cultivate greater self-awareness, build strength and flexibility and integrate new habits for a sustainable transformation. This 30-day period can be a catalyst for lasting change; it will get your body ready for summer in the Rockies and give you an opportunity to welcome yourself, as you are, into this point in time.
Participants will receive daily inspirations via email to keep them curious and on-track. The first half of the program will focus on clarity of mind and body. Classes will include elements of detox: deep twists, a warm room and pranayama (breath) exercises. A three-day cleanse will be offered in conjunction with the program's launch, followed by a detailed seven-day nutrition program. Discipline, as it relates to yoga, will be a frequent topic during the first half of the program.
UNITING BODY, MIND AND BREATH
Yoga is sometimes translated as "to yoke" or to bring together two or more things. The second half of the program will focus on the concept of bringing together body, mind and breath. What does it mean to bring mindfulness to one's actions? How is this achieved? 30 Days of Yoga will explore answers to these questions as they relate to each individual. No two people will have the same experience, but all can expect to be challenged and find breakthroughs in the body and mind.
The 30 Days of Yoga program is offered at $99 for Dogma Athletica Members and $230 for non-members. It includes access to Dogma's full yoga and mediation class schedule plus additional classes each week that are exclusively for participants. May's schedule will be a return to Dogma's vigorous roots, offering challenging classes that Vail's athletes are sure to love.
The program culminates in a special two-hour class on May 30. Prepare your body for summer in the Vail Valley, and all the activities that come along with it.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Georgouses at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Dogma Athletica's front desk at 970-688-4433.
