BEAVER CREEK – After Sunday, the Vilar Performing Arts Center will increase prices for its Christmas celebration featuring Handel’s Messiah with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus. Ticket purchasers who buy now will receive tickets at $15 for students and $45 for adults; after Sunday, prices increase to $60 for adults (and remain $15 for students).
A perfect way to celebrate the holiday season, Handel’s Messiah, taking place Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m., has become a tradition for many families. The evening’s concert includes Sheep May Safely Graze; Stokowski, Corelli Christmas Concerto; Vaughn Williams: Fantasia on Greensleeves; and it closes with the Christmas portions of Handel’s Messiah, concluding with the Hallelujah Chorus; the audience will have the music on the back side of their programs and will be invited to sing along.
“Last year, Messiah was a sold-out sensation at the Vilar Performing Arts Center and we’re delighted with the fact that it’s become a popular Christmas tradition in Beaver Creek,” said Kris Sabel, executive director for the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “This year, we’re adding the sing along piece to make the evening all the more festive. It’s a great Christmas activity for the whole family, and we look forward to sharing a part in your holiday celebrations year.”
Each year, the Vilar Performing Arts Center features regular and community-based programming for the holiday season, and will soon announce the rest of its December programming with a special holiday pre-sale. Messiah tickets will go up Monday, so attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early.
Tickets for Christmas Celebration featuring Handel’s Messiah, and the rest of the Vilar Center dance, classical and Broadway series performances for this winter, are now available online at vilarpac.org, by phone at 970-845-TIXS or in person at the VPAC Box Office in Beaver Creek.
