Gourmet on Gore continues today, Sunday and Monday with the main event, the three-day open-air tasting, which takes place along Vail's Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street and showcases the Vail Valley's top restaurants as well as wines, beers and spirits from around the world.
Attendees will nosh on items including Palisade peaches and arugula salad with goat cheese flan from Flame in the Four Seasons Vail; pastrami cured pork shoulder Reuben sandwich with Sriracha thousand island dressing, arugula, Swiss cheese and Borden Farm's pickles from Mountain Standard; tuna poke in a lettuce cup from Matsuhisa Vail; smoked elk carpaccio crostini from Up the Creek; and pumpkin spice cake topped with cream cheese frosting and cinnamon from Mountain Cupcakes.

"In recent years, Gourmet on Gore has really been hitting stride and with the addition of our presenting sponsor, Toyota, they have helped bring things to a new level with their national event campaign, Let's Go Places, landing right here in Vail," said James Deighan, of Highline, the event producer. "They are taking a very established event and bringing it to the rest of the country with a very cool video news release featuring Kelly Liken and profiling the event and town as a whole."
In addition, guests can enhance their weekend this morning, from 9 to 10 a.m. with Yoga On The Lawn presented by The Vitality Center on the Solaris Plaza Lawn in Vail Village. This is a free, fun community yoga session, rain or shine. Bring a mat, water, sunscreen and as many friends as you would like.
Local artist Carrie Fell has once again created a one-of-a-kind work of art to represent the 2013 Gourmet on Gore event, which captures the spirit of the event and the iconic scenery of Vail Village. Poster prints of the work "Room at the Table with Local Flavor" will be available at her gallery stop on the tasting tour and at the open-air tasting.
