Colorado Mountain College in Edwards hosts a “Hot off the Grill: Japanese” cooking class on Thursday. The three-hour, life-long learning class starts at 6 p.m. and is held at Battle Mountain High School’s learning kitchen. The kitchen is a conventional size kitchen stocked with professional equipment.

At the class, students will don an apron and enjoy a hand’s on experience while cooking sesame seared tuna, chicken yakitori, edamame potato salad, gingered beef and grilled tofu and asparagus. Attendees will also explore the health benefits of Japanese-style ingredients and cooking methods.

“Japanese cooking infuses fresh vegetables with quick cooking methods to preserve their nutrients, I am very excited for this class because the food is healthy and light,” said class instructor Tracy Miller.

Miller brings a colorful perspective to cooking by adding fruits and vegetables to all her meals. She teaches at CMC, contributes to the Vail Daily and shares recipes on TV8 Monday mornings. To learn more about Miller, visit colorfulcooking.com.
