Liken takes part in Denver fundraiser

Guests of this year’s “SaddleUp! and Pack Your Bags, a Denver Suitcase Party” fundraiser event, benefiting equine therapy for those in-need, will have the chance to win an exclusive gastronomic inspired weekend with Vail chef Kelly Liken. The event takes place at the Mayo Aviation Hangar in Centennial Airport in Englewood.
On Aug. 2, guests attending the third annual “SaddleUp! and Pack Your Bags, a Denver Suitcase Party” will all be on stand-by for the chance to win a grand-prize culinary weekend experience in Vail. Host James Beard nominated chef Kelly Liken and her husband and business partner, Rick Colomitz, owners of the esteemed Restaurant Kelly Liken.
Guests will arrive at the soiree with bags packed and ready to go, vying to win a weekend with Kelly and Rick as they are whisked away in a luxurious limousine set for Vail.
Surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains, Kelly and Rick welcome the winners after a limousine trip and arrival at the Sonnenalp luxury hotel and spa. On Saturday, the two lucky recipients will wake up for a day of pampering, culminating in a decadent dinner at the renowned Restaurant Kelly Liken. The winners conclude the night at the iconic Red Lion bar to meet and enjoy legendary owner and musician Phil Long.

The event will feature appetizers from local chefs, live entertainment and dancing, and the chance to mingle with Colorado’s most prominent luminaries. Guests will also enjoy some of Liken’s exquisite and renowned cuisine as she teams with celebrity chef Jenna Johansen and Tenderbelly for a chef tasting menu highlighting the seasonal fare and Tenderbelly pork.
Kelly and Rick have been supporters of the SaddleUp! Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities and therapies provided at a family-friendly ranch.
“The SaddleUp! Foundation offers such a memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Liken said. “We wanted to be a part of this incredible program for these kids in any way we could.”
The event takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Mayo Aviation Hangar, Centennial Airport, 7735 S. Peoria Street in Englewood.
Tickets range from $125 to $175. Business class ticket for young professionals age 35 years and younger are $125. General boarding tickets are $150; First class tickets (includes VIP discounts from Town & Country Limousine) are $175. Four patrons (two couples) will have a chance to win the grand-prize getaway through the purchase of a “Baggage Claim” raffle ticket and/or as the highest bidder in the live auction.
