Local disc golf club starts season on Saturday

EAGLE — The Flying Eagle Disc Society, Eagle County’s disc golf club, is starting its third season on Saturday with its annual Kickoff Tag Match as well as weekly league play which begins next week.
Anyone interested in playing can secure their entry fee early by purchasing a club membership at the Flying Eagle Disc Society website (www.flyingeagledisc.com). If a membership is purchased early, then players will be automatically registered for the kickoff tag match.
Sign up on the day of the event (cash, check or credit card accepted) will also be available.
A Flying Eagle Disc Society membership includes an all-metal, bottle-opener bag tag, a FEDS logo car window decal and discounts at local businesses including Transition Sports, Bonfire Brewing and Riverwalk Wine & Spirits.
Those who cannot make the tag match but would still like to join the club can either use the online registration tool at the club website or sign up in person at any league event. Membership packages will be available for pickup after the Saturday kickoff event.
Flying Eagle Disc Society weekly leagues at the Eagle County Fairgrounds course also begin this coming week with the Monday Tag Match and Wednesday Random Draw Doubles. Leagues take place every week through early fall.
Wednesday Doubles is open to the public and is $5 to play. Monday Tags is for 2014 FEDS members only and is free to play. Both leagues feature an optional $1 ace pool. Early season tee off is at 5:30 p.m.
