New Trek to Table route added

VAIL — There’s more than one way to work up a healthy appetite, indulge in some of the Vail Valley’s finest gourmet offerings and give back to your community. The Vail Valley Foundation recently added a new route and additional participation options to its second annual Trek to Table fundraising event, which includes a July 7 hike and dining extravaganza on Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Mountains.
“Trek to Table is a wonderful opportunity to combine a great day of hiking and beautiful scenery with a full day of incredible food, all for a terrific cause,” said Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation. “Not only can you have a great outdoor outing, but you can make a significant contribution to our community in the process, in essence, feeding both the body and the soul.”
Raising funds for the Foundation’s overarching mission of enhancing the Vail Valley through arts, athletic and educational events and programs, the Trek to Table now features 5-mile and 11-mile hike options from Arrowhead and Beaver Creek, with varying routes and degrees of difficulty.
Along the way, participants will be treated to a gourmet feast, courtesy of the prestigious private cabins and restaurants that dot the route.
The 11-mile hike option begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Broken Arrow Restaurant at the base of Arrowhead Mountain. Breakfast will be served at Zach’s Cabin, while lunch will be provided courtesy of Beano’s Cabin on Beaver Creek Mountain. Trek to Table will conclude with apres at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch.
Participants electing to partake in the new 5-mile hike option will be transported via shuttle to Beano’s Cabin for lunch from both Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Villages. From Beano’s, these guests will join the 11-mile group for the trek to the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch for the apres offering.
