BEAVER CREEK — The Vilar Performing Arts Center welcomes the return of Parsons Dance for a family-friendly, contemporary dance performance showcasing the creative and moving choreography of Artistic Director David Parsons on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The performance will include the moving works “Brothers and Nasci Novo”; the mid-20th century sock hop and swing dancing inspired “Swing Shift”; “The Envelope,” a thought-provoking piece about loss of identity; and “Caught,” featuring more than 100 leaps in six minutes by a solo dancer.
For more than two decades, Parsons has created more than 70 works that have encompassed magical choreography, wowing audiences all over the world, many of which feature commissioned original scores by composers and musicians, including Dave Matthews, Michael Gordon and Milton Nascimento.
Parsons’ last Beaver Creek performance of the rock opera production “Remember Me” left patrons moved and wanting more. Parsons’ internationally acclaimed dance company blends athleticism and elated movements in a mixed repertoire of dance.
Tickets are $30 for students and $58 for adults. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.vilarpac.org or call 888-920-ARTS.
