Agave in Avon welcomes The Marcus King Band on Friday, Nov. 25. Best known for its Southern rock and bluesy style, The Marcus King Band is following in the footsteps of bands such as The Allman Brothers and Government Mule. In addition to Marcus King, who plays everything from electric to acoustic guitar, as well as pedal and lap steel, the band features Jack Ryan on drums and percussion, Stephen Campbell on bass, Matt Jennings on keys and organ, Dean Mitchell on saxophone and Justin Johnson on trumpet, trombone and backing vocals. “King is poised to be one of music’s next great guitarists,” writes the Washington Post, “a virtuosic talent capable of playing blues, rock, R&B, country, soul and established as a songwriter, singer and bandleader.” Admission to the show is free before 10 p.m. and $10 thereafter.
