VAIL — Celebrate the season with a Spring Detox Flow yoga practice at the Vail Vitality Center on Saturday. The workshop, led by Tara Goike, is designed to cleanse the body and clear the mind, much like spring cleaning for the home. New this year, DJ Kirby joins Goike providing music to move by.
This focused practice features deep twists to cleanse and detox the body after the long, heavy winter. Participants should be prepared to sweat, flow and groove to the electric sounds of a live DJ. The two-hour session ends with meditative and restorative postures to renew the mind and body.
"I'm so excited to be joining forces with DJ Kirby Koch this year," Goike said. "It will be an amazing practice being able to flow into our yoga movements with electronic tunes to groove with. We will enjoy a fun, sweaty practice to detoxify our bodies, and then we will slide into rejuvenating restorative poses for the last half-hour of class while listening to the zen sounds of the DJ. It will be a perfect match."
Goike has been teaching yoga in the Vail Valley since 2004. Growing up as a trained athlete in the sport of springboard diving, she learned the commitment of athletics and proper instruction. In 2001, she took her first yoga class and immediately fell in love with the dedication, passion, physical aspects and mental clarity of this art.
