VAIL — For one night only, former New York City Ballet star and Artistic Director for the Vail International Dance Festival Damian Woetzel pairs star-studded dancers from diverse dance backgrounds for a special evening of collaborative mixed-bill performances at Dance for $20.14. Beginning Saturday, festival-goers can purchase Dance for $20.14 tickets for just $20.14, which will be held on August 5 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater as part of the Vail International Dance Festival. The evening features artists from all dance genres including ballet, Memphis jookin' and contemporary with performances by: BalletX, Lil Buck and New Styles Krew, American Ballet Theatre's Herman Cornejo and New York City Ballet's Tiler Peck and Robert Fairchild.
Tickets cost $20.14 (reserve seating) and $14 (general admission with lawn seating) and can be purchased online at http://www.vaildance.org or by phone at 970-845-TIXS (8497). Tickets can also be purchased at the Ford Amphitheater Box Office.
Due to construction at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, parking will be unavailable in the Ford Park lots while tickets are on sale. The public can park in the Vail Village Parking Structure and walk to the theater by way of Vail Valley Drive and approach the theater from the south over the pedestrian bridge. However, parking will resume to normal operating schedule during the Dance Festival.
Aug. 5 marks the seventh installment of the public-minded performance that was created by Woetzel in an effort to make dance more accessible, both from a price and programming perspective. The evening is specifically designed to cultivate new dance audiences by providing a wide variety of dancers and dance styles in one evening's lineup.
Ticket sales begin Saturday starting at 11 a.m. Visit http://www.vvf.org.
