Vail’s Aria Spa hosts third annual Spa and Yoga for the Cure
October 17, 2013
VAIL — As Breast Cancer awareness month continues, both men and women are reminded that through proper self-checks, screenings and family history awareness, the fight against breast cancer does stand a chance.
According to the American Cancer Society's 2013 Cancer Prevention and Early Detection study, breast cancer screening has been shown to reduce breast cancer mortality. In the U.S., death rates from breast cancer in women have been declining since 1990, due in part to early detection by mammography screening and improvements in treatment.
Currently, 60 percent of breast cancers are diagnosed at a localized stage, for which the five-year survival rate is 98 percent.
The spa component
While a long and arduous road still lies ahead, every little bit helps — a motto that has inspired countless fundraisers and inspired April Bingham, Aria Spa's director, to launch Spa for the Cure.
Now in its third year, Aria Spa has once again pledged to donate $5 from every massage, facial and body treatment booked now through Oct. 31 to Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards.
With more than 30 different types of qualifying services available, spa goers can assemble their ideal experience, be it an indulgent and pampering spa escape or an equally pleasing, yet purpose-driven restorative spa visit.
In the spirit of more is always better, Aria Spa is encouraging head-to-toe spa bliss with up to 40 percent off massages, body treatments and facials.
With this seasonal offer, spa guests will enjoy greater savings and more pampering when they book multiple treatments at Aria Spa, including 25 percent off one spa service, 30 percent off two spa services and 40 percent off three spa services or more. All services must be redeemed same day.
Yoga for the Cure
In addition to Spa for the Cure, certified yoga instructor and yoga supervisor Libby Maio will host a Yoga for the Cure workshop in Aria Athletic Club.
The two-hour workshop "Mandala Yoga Practice' will take place on Oct. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m.
There will be no fee for the class but rather guests are encouraged to make a donation. All proceeds raised from this class will also go to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center. Advance registration is recommended.
