VAIL — Shannon Paige is ready to turn up the yoga volume in the Vail Valley this weekend. Paige brings two of her “Goddess Chronicles” workshops to the Vail Vitality Center Saturday, encouraging yogis to unfold and bloom like the seeds of summer.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Paige leads her popular “Upside Down is Right Side Up” workshop, teaching “handstand in the center of the room.” While handstand is one of the most desired experiences on a yoga mat, it is also one of the most feared. In this workshop, Paige leads students through a thoughtful and creative progression of the necessary skills, integrations and actions that inspire the courage to try.
From 3 to 5 p.m., Paige indulges students with a signature anjali restorative yoga session. Paige founded this unique practice centered in quiet, healing and ease, which features a sequence of nine poses supported by bolsters, pillows and blankets. These restorative postures are fed by a stream of guided meditations, soothing breathing practices and inspired imagery. The effect of the practice is profoundly healing, renewing and calming.
Paige is a student, author, sacred activist, motivational speaker and dedicated teacher of integrated expressive flow yoga. She is a respected teacher and a mentor of teachers. Paige is the founder of Anjali Restorative Yoga and Bala Therapeutic Yoga. Her classes and trainings are dedicated to a sense of mystery and wonder within a vinyasa of self-honoring, self-cultivation and radical self-participation.
For information or to register, visit www.vailvitalitycenter.com or call 970-476-7960. The practice is open to members and Vail Vitality Center guests. Cost for a single class is $35; cost for both classes is $60. Space is limited.
