BEAVER CREEK — The Vilar Performing Arts Center welcomes the talent, the sounds and the bright lights of Broadway to its stage Monday for Neil Berg’s “100 Years of Broadway.”
The No. 1 touring Broadway concert in America brings Broadway’s finest stars and greatest songs together for an unforgettable holiday event. Direct from New York, five of Broadway’s brightest stars will take audiences on a journey through Broadway history with the music of Kander & Ebb, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and many more.
Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway will feature hits ranging from classic shows such as “My Fair Lady” “and “South Pacific,” fan favorites like “West Side Story” and “Chicago,” to current blockbusters like “Jersey Boys” and “Wicked,” and much-loved holiday tunes. The evening will recreate the greatest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the actual stars of shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “CATS,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and “Jekyll & Hyde.” These amazing performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred.
According to San Francisco’s KABC radio theater critic, Jerry Friedman, “This revue features some of the best songs from the best Broadway shows, all sung by some of the most talented performers working today singing many of the hit songs that they have sung on Broadway.”
