EAGLE-VAIL — The Eagle-Vail Community Garden will host a Harvest Dinner on July 24, featuring a meal prepared by Grouse Mountain Grill chefs. Eighty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to Eagle County Students in Transition and 15 percent to the Eagle-Vail Community Garden. The menu will feature fresh produce directly from Grouse Mountain Grill’s garden to enhance locally sourced products. Dinner will be served family style. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the garden in full bloom and enjoy dinner.
Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and features passed appetizers such as barbecued lamb ribs with yogurt tzatziki; tartar of Colorado striped bass; and white gazapacho with smoked almonds. There will be an assortment of house-made breads with butter and spreads, and salads such as a local baby carrot salad with golden raisins; and Eagle Springs organic tomato salad with house-made ricotta and arugula grown in Grouse Mountain Grill’s plot in the Eagle-Vail Community Garden. Dinner, served family style, includes roasted Colorado berkshire rack of pork with caramelized cippolini onions; grilled Wynn Farm peaches; and farro and Olathe sweet corn risotto. For dessert, there’s lemon lime custard with rosemary sorbet and brown butter tuile. Bring your own drinks. Bottle openers, ice, water and glassware will be available.
Tickets are $75 each, payable in advance and non-refundable. In case of severe inclement weather, the event will be re-scheduled. Seating will be at a long communal table by reservation only.
