Gourmet on Gore returns to Vail

Gourmet on Gore returns to Vail Village from Sept. 4-7, featuring bites and sips from Vail's favorite chefs and restaurants.

VAIL — Gourmet on Gore is an event that appeals to all of the senses. It features gastronomic creations from some of Vail’s most renowned chefs, sips from world-class vintners, exceptional beers and events that highlight the natural beauty of Vail. The 10th annual culinary festival takes place in the heart of Vail Village on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-7.

“Vail has emerged as a culinary destination, and Gourmet on Gore allows us to showcase that thriving community,” said event producer James Deighan, of Highline Entertainment. “Not only is it an opportunity to sample from some of Vail’s best eateries while strolling through town, but the weekend also includes an opportunity to relax in the gorgeous scenery that makes Vail special.”

Featuring an open-air tasting with wine, beer and spirits paired with special creations from the Vail Valley’s top restaurants, Gourmet on Gore offers also offers a variety of additional pairing events and outdoor activities throughout the weekend. A Tasting Tour kicks things off on Friday, Sept. 4, and Open-Air Tastings take place on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5 and 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Brunch on Bridge Street closes the weekend on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 4

6 to 9 p.m.: Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour presented by Alpine Bank, Vail Village, $75 per person.

Gourmet on Gore starts with a progressive evening of tasty treats at some of Vail’s finest restaurants and hot spots. Each location will include a signature beverage as well as savory hors d’oeuvres for sampling. The event benefits Habitat for Humanity of Vail Valley. SATURDAY, SEPT. 5

9 to 10 a.m.: Yoga on the Lawn presented by the Vail Vitality Center, Solaris Plaza Lawn, Vail Village.

This free, fun community yoga session goes on rain or shine! Attendees will have the opportunity to rejuvenate their bodies before all of the day’s culinary action with this yoga instruction from the Vitality Center. Bring your mat, water, sunscreen and friends.

11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Open-Air Tasting, Gore Creek Drive, complimentary admission with pay-as-you-go small plates and drinks.

Stroll through the heart of Vail Village for a summer afternoon that will satisfy the senses. Attendees can enjoy mouthwatering creations prepared by some of the finest culinary talent in the Vail Valley, sip exceptional wine, beers and spirits. Live jazz performances will top off the afternoon.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Slifer Smith & Frampton Live Local Open House Tour.

Experience some of the finest properties in Vail Village during Slifer Smith & Frampton’s Open House Tour. The Live Local Lounge features a place to relax in the shade, phone chargers and treats for your four-legged friend as well as information about the Open House Tour.

Noon to 5 p.m.: Kids’ Culinary Corner, Gore Creek Drive Children’s Fountain, complimentary.

Future chefs, this one’s for you. Stop by the Kids’ Culinary Corner throughout the weekend for culinary activities, crafts and fun just for kids.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 6

11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Open-Air Tasting, Gore Creek Drive,

Attendees can stroll through the heart of Vail Village for a summer afternoon that will satisfy their senses. Guests can enjoy mouthwatering creations prepared by the finest culinary talent, sip exceptional wine, beers and spirits and enjoy live jazz from the stage to top off the afternoon. Admission is free with pay as you go format for good and drinks.

Noon to 5 p.m.: Kids’ Culinary Corner, Gore Creek Drive Children’s Fountain, complimentary.

MONDAY, SEPT. 7

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Brunch on Bridge Street, Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street. Complimentary admission with pay-as-you-go for bites and pours.

Visitors can close out the holiday weekend with a stroll through the heart of Vail Village for one final palate-pleasing day. They can enjoy mouthwatering brunch delights, wines, beers and spirits paired with easy-listening live music.
