Sonnenalp in Vail hosts Spanish-themed garden dinner

VAIL — Sonnenalp’s Gather in the Garden series continues Thursday. Sonnenalp’s head sommelier Jarrett Quint and his team will pair award-winning Spanish wines with a three-course dinner.

“We’re excited to continue our wine dinners with a first-ever Spanish-themed menu,” Quint said. “We’ve put together light and fresh summer fare selections along with Spanish wines that complement each dish.”

The three-course dinner menu includes passed appetizers paired with Vallformosa Sparkling Cava, Spain, N.V.; roasted asparagus salad with a goat cheese terrine, paired with Real Compania Verdejo, Spain ’12; Spanish saffron paella with spicy chicken, mussels, shrimp, salmon and calamari, paired with Bodegas Muriel Blanco, Rioja, Spain ’11; and a cherry almond tart, honey parfait and a brandy cherry coulis, paired with Real Compania Garnacha, Spain ’11.

Reservations required

Gather in the Garden begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The cost is a fixed price of $39 per person for three courses; $58 per person with the wine pairing. Tax and gratuity are additional. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 970-479-5429.

“Gather in the Garden” will continue next month with a champagne theme, featuring Moet-Chandon, on Aug. 2. For more information, visit www.sonnenalp.com.
