AVON — Maya, Avon’s modern Mexican kitchen and tequila bar by chef Richard Sandoval, kicks off its first Beaver Creek ski season with daily apres ski specials, a menu of steaming Cafe Especiales drinks and two “Diners’ Choice 2013” awards from www.opentable.com.
The www.opentable.com 2013 Diners’ Choice awards — which were voted on by more than 640,300 diners nationwide — recently honored Maya as one of Colorado’s Top 10 Vibrant Mountain Bar Scenes and Top 10 Mountain Hot Spots.
Maya is also now serving a special apres ski menu daily from 2:30 to 5 p.m. featuring $2 handcrafted tacos from the comal tortilla station — including steak, pork and chicken tinga — three types of margaritas for $5 and a variety of savory Botanas Mexican tapas for $4, including mahi mahi ceviche, steak flatbread and smoked brisket nachos.
Warm up after a Beaver Creek powder day with one of Maya’s new Cafe Especiales cocktails, including the Cafe Amore, made with cognac, amaretto, coffee and whipped cream, or the Cafe y Crema, made with 1921 Tequila Cream, coffee and whipped cream.
Bottomless Margarita Brunch
Maya is also serving a $35 bottomless margarita brunch on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring unlimited Mexican small plates and free flowing brunch cocktails. Breakfast dishes include chilaquiles, steak and eggs, pozole and Mexican chocolate waffles.
