Free Wednesday Art Walks in Vail begin June 21

Wednesday Art Walks in Vail are free and last about one hour. The town's Art in Public Places coordinator guides the weekly walks.

Where: The tour meets at the Vail Village Welcome Center and winds through the village.

When: Wednesdays, beginning at 11 a.m. The tour lasts one hour.

VAIL — Free, one-hour weekly Wednesday Art Walks and tour of Vail Village begin Wednesday.

Guided by the town’s Art in Public Places coordinator at 11 a.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 30, the tour meets at the Vail Village Welcome Center.

The tour winds through the village with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the village and the importance of site-specific art.



Vail’s public art collection includes more than 45 works ranging from paintings, sculptures, murals, playgrounds and site-integrated art.

A printed map of the collection is available at the Vail and Lionshead Village welcome centers. There is also a virtual tour at http://www.artinvail.com.
