Hieroglyphics will perform live with all its original members at Agave in Avon on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Originally founded in 1991, Hieroglyphics is an American underground hip-hop collective out of Oakland, California, that combines fundamental sound deliveries and lyrical content with original, jazzy and funky beats and samples. The crew has been thriving in the hip-hop world, collaborating with the likes of Jurassic 5, George Clinton, Dilated Peoples, Q-Tip, Xzibit and Gorillaz. Tickets are $30. Science Center

Travel by snowshoes on an educational tour through the forests on top of of Vail Mountain. Participants will learn about winter ecology and animal adaptations in a beautiful mountain setting. Hikers will spend an hour outside in the winter environment so snow pants, warm hats, gloves and sturdy boots are required. Snowshoes are provided. Ages 10 and up can participate for free. Join the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens’ education coordinator for a serene and educational experience as participants make their way through the gardens by snowshoe on this guided tour. Afterward warm up in the education center with a cup of hot chocolate or tea and learn about the alpine environment and flowers. Adult- and youth-sized snowshoes and poles are available for $5.
