Spring into the new fashion season

The spring catwalk is filled with new trends to boost your warm weather style. The season comes outfitted with embroidery trends, embellishments, the most coveted bags and blooming color palettes. It's time to freshen up your closet with these must-have items for 2017.

Stylish detailing

Who says embroidered denim is an awkward fashion trend? Embrace your inner music festival groupie and don a pair of super-cute BlankNYC embroidered floral jeans with fringe bottoms ($129, Blitz). Jean jackets with back panel stitching, such as the Marni Gold jean jacket with eagle and floral embroidery ($186, Blitz), will give your walk-away that extra je ne sais quoi.

Tribal-inspired embroidery will also find its way into your wardrobe this season. The Free People Weekend Wanderer Jacket ($128, Valley Girl) is an ultra-chic cropped jacket featuring distressing and frayed edges for a relaxed, lived-in feel. As the sun sets, combo this with a simple black romper or sundress.

Tulip silhouette

This season, the tulip silhouette is getting an update which will be more in-line with what's trending on the catwalks. You will see this flare profile up in jeans, tops and dresses. The Nicole Miller Artelier Tulip Pant ($325, Avalon) and the Nicole Miller Artelier Tulip Top ($275, Avalon) will inspire your spring and summer style with asymmetrical hemlines that are flattering and give your style that extra "oomph."

It's all in the bag

Fashionistas know it doesn't feel like spring until you have a swoon-worthy bag for the season.

The chic perforated gold cut out bag and black cut out bag ($74.90, Valley Girl) will start you off in spring, take you through summer and keep you in style during the early, warm days of fall.

Known for its complementary color palettes, the Let & Her contrast colored tote ($640, Perch) is a perfectly-chic weekend warrior and the striking colored flaps give this sometimes-mom-most-often-fashionista bag a captivating flair.

A beach tote, gym bag or overnight bag, the Kempton & Co. Postal Stripe Crossbody ($465, Perch) can be taken to work or happy hour and yields jaw-dropping stares from your fashion counterparts.

The Roberta Roller Rabbit Paola big fold-over clutch ($125, Perch) truly makes anyone break out into giggles. The carefree striping and hot pink fringe is super-fun for spring and summer and will give your black maxi sundress the pop of color it needs.

Sunnies and readers

Since Vail gets close to near-perfect sunny days throughout the year, shading your peepers is a must. Accessorizing your spring ensemble with on-trend sunnies will give your style that final touch and, as the most immediate looked-at accessory, you'll be buying more than one pair.

Rose gold has found its way from indulgent jewelry to your spring closet door. The Dior Eclat sunglasses ($615, Blitz) feature a matte gray marble-print frame and the season's trendy rose gold lenses.

The cat-eye craze continues through the spring and summer and the Gucci GG4283/s Mother of Pearl Sunglasses ($495, Blitz) will not only protect your eyes with complete UVA and UVB protection, but will also give new meaning to a statement piece.

If you're a chic geek, then you will love the open flat lens trends in glasses frames. The zero-base lens or flat lens takes classic shapes and replaces them with a flat lens for a clean, contemporary twist. Some favorite picks include the Thom Browne frames ($695, Eye Pieces), frames from Oliver Peoples ($385, Eye Pieces) and Dior glasses ($595, Eye Pieces).

Greenery

Breathe in Pantone's Color of the Year, Greenery and sprinkle the garden-fresh shade into your makeup routine.

"It doesn't require you to have a specific eye color or skin tone to wear green," said Shannon Corbin from Vail Cos Bar. "It's a fun way to punch up a neutral or warm palette of shadows. Laura Mercier's Longwear Creme Eye Pencil in Sage ($25, Cos Bar) is a favorite product to create a soft pop of green at the lash line."

Corbin's colleague in the Edwards location, Ilona Smith, suggests starting with a neutral eye and using By Terry's Crayon Khol Terrybly Multicare Eye Definer in Emerald Evasion ($35, Cos Bar).

"Same goes for mascara. Choose a green mascara and see how your eyes are subtly drawn into focus," Smith said.

To create a green smoky eye, Smith says to pair Bobbi Brown's Metallic Eye Shadow in Balsam ($24, Cos Bar) with browns, beiges and yellow-greens such as khaki. For a bolder look, opt for blending it with blue greens.
