Tony Award-winning ‘Kinky Boots,’ ‘Rent’ headline Vilar Center’s Broadway Series

BEAVER CREEK — The Vilar Performing Arts Center has announced the lineup of its 2017-18 Winter Broadway Series, featuring performances by the touring casts of Cyndi Lauper’s Tony Award-winning “Kinky Boots”, the “RENT” 20th Anniversary Tour and satirical comedy “THRONES! The Musical Parody”, among others.

‘100 Years of Broadway’

Neil Berg’s widely acclaimed ‘100 Years of Broadway’ (Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 7:30 p.m.), a musical revue of Broadway’s most celebrated shows, features a dazzling cast of five Broadway stars accompanied by an all-star New York band.

The show recreates the greatest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the actual stars of shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “CATS,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Jekyll & Hyde.”

Tickets start at $78 for adults and $38 for children.

‘Kinky Boots’

A national Broadway tour with songs by Grammy- and Tony-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, ‘Kinky Boots’ (Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m.) is a joyous musical celebration about the friendships we discover, and the belief that you can change the world when you change your mind.

And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production.

‘THRONES! The Musical Parody’

Fans of the most talked about show on television can now get their fantasy fix live on stage with the hilarious send-up “THRONES! The Musical Parody” (Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m.).

Composed by the hysterical mad men behind the long-running “SILENCE! THE MUSICAL,” Jon and Al Kaplan, “THRONES! The Musical Parody” brings your most beloved and be-hated characters to life as you journey through all six seasons of the Emmy Award-winning “Game of Thrones” series.
