OK Eagle County, time to tell us your love story

Go ahead, spill it.

We want to know the sweet-and-sappy details of your love story. Once again, the Vail Daily and TV8 are teaming up for the fourth annual Tell Us Your Love Story contest. In around 400 words or less, we want you to dish.

You could write about how you first met your significant other. Maybe you felt a jolt of electricity, or maybe you wanted to punch him in the face, either way, it’s likely something you’ll never forget, and it probably makes for a darn good story.

Or tell us about when you just knew in your heart that person was “the one.” Write about your first or best date with that person, or be a real renegade and tell us about the worst date you ever had with your loved one and how despite the odds, you’ve prevailed.

Tell us the best story out of the bunch and you might score a pretty sweet prize. The top three story tellers will take home a prize, which includes dinner for two at La Tour, a snowmobile tour for two with Sage Outfitters or a couple’s massage at Allegria Spa at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek, complete with Champagne.

“Last year we had such a great time hearing everyone’s stories,” said Tricia Swenson, of TV8. “If you’re in love and in a relationship with someone special, it might remind you of those feeling you had when you first met, and if you’re not in love yet, these stories may inspire you and give you a feeling of what it’s like.”

We’ve gotten dozens of submissions the past few years. Stories ranged from a couple who met at a charity Santa Pub Crawl to a pair that first laid eyes on each other at a multi-day adventure race on the other side of the country. The best stories will be printed in the Vail Daily and the winners will be invited to share their story on TV8.

We don’t care if it’s cheesy, quirky, unlikely or sappy, we want to hear it; you have until Monday. We can’t wait to read your love story.
