Thrifty Shoppe re-opens Saturday

EAGLE — By simple definition, expansion means growth, and in the case of the Eagle Thrifty Shoppe, Vail Valley Cares Director Greg Osteen hopes physical growth translates to more grant money for local charitable organizations.

With the completion of its recent expansion totaling more than 1,000 square feet of added retail space, the Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Shoppe in Eagle can offer a larger inventory on the sales floor. This means more room for furniture and other popular items. That means more great deals for shoppers. The Eagle Thrifty Shoppe expansion debuts on Saturday, and shoppers will find plenty to celebrate.

The Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Shoppe expansion includes new space upstairs for all sports equipment and men’s clothing. The added space created downstairs by moving gear and menswear upstairs means more room for additional women’s and children’s merchandise, and allows the staff to expand furniture offerings.

BIG SALES ON WINTER GEAR

During the celebration on Saturday shoppers can expect big sales, including on all remaining ski and snowboard gear and winter clothing inventory. Gear includes alpine and telemark skis, snowboards, Nordic equipment, boots for all disciplines, clothing and accessories.

The stores also carry a variety of non-ski and snowboard gear, such as figure and hockey skates, snowshoes and sleds.

Grand re-opening shoppers also can expect refreshments from Nicky’s Quicky in Eagle and a drawing for prizes.

SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITIES

As always, Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Shoppe shoppers save on purchases and the money they spend funds a burgeoning grant program. In 2013, Vail Valley Cares and the Thrifty Shoppes in Eagle and Edwards awarded 31 valley-based charitable organizations a total of $275,000 in contributions. Since 2000, Vail Valley Cares and the Thrifty Shoppes have provided over $2 million in grants to local charities.
