Eagle County seeks board members

EAGLE COUNTY — Eagle County has openings on several citizen boards, including the Eagle County Planning Commission, the Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee and the Colorado State University Extension Advisory Council. For the planning commission, zoning board and trails committee, applications can be submitted via email to karen.sepp@eaglecounty.us. To qualify, all applicants must be Eagle County residents and registered voters. A brief description and the application process for each of the boards follows:

Eagle County Planning Commission

The commission makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding land use within the Eagle Valley area of unincorporated Eagle County. The Eagle County Planning Commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Applications are available online at www.eaglecounty.us/planning.

Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission

This board makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding land use within the Roaring Fork Valley, Missouri Heights and Frying Pan Road area of unincorporated Eagle County. This commission meets on the first and third Thursday of every month. Applications are available online at www.eaglecounty.us/planning and are due April 4.

Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets as needed to review applications for zoning variances. Applications are available online at www.eaglecounty.us/planning and are due April 4.

ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee

The ECO Eagle Valley Trails Committee has one vacancy for an at-large member. Applicants must reside in the Eagle River, Colorado River or Gore Creek valley portions of Eagle County. The 18-member committee generally meets five to six times per year to plan trail projects for construction using funds from the 0.5 percent transportation sales tax. Members are expected to participate in an area of emphasis such as trail planning, special events, fundraising, shared roads or backcountry trails. Applications are due Tuesday and are available from Ellie Caryl, program manager, by calling 970-328-3523 or emailing ellie.caryl@eaglecounty.us.

Colorado State University Extension Advisory Council

The Colorado State University Extension Advisory Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Eagle County Extension staff in developing, maintaining and promoting educational programs and resources to the citizens of the county. Roles include being an ambassador for CSU Extension programming and resources and assisting in determining priorities and long range guidelines for programming efforts.
