Alpine Bank opens Denver branch

DENVER — On April 4, Alpine Bank opened its first Denver branch, located at 1777 Wynkoop Street in the IMA building in the new Union Station neighborhood. To celebrate, Alpine Bank has also announced a contest for local entrepreneurs, the winner of which will receive a $100,000, two-year, interest-free small business loan.

“We are thrilled to open our first location in Downtown Denver and expand our services from the mountains to the city,” said Norm Franke, regional president. “It is particularly exciting to be opening our first Denver branch in the new Union Station neighborhood, which will be a hub of activity and the perfect locale to introduce Denver businesses and residents to our services.”

New Location

The 2,500-square-foot Alpine Bank space will be a full-service retail location with seven employees — including two longtime bank employees, Matt Teeters, executive vice president, and Franke — and will offer exceptional customer service along with the latest in cutting edge technology available in banking. The decor will incorporate modern finishes with a mountain ambience.

As a celebration of its entrance into the Denver market, Alpine Bank has also announced a small business contest. For the past several weeks, Alpine Bank has been conducting “WhatDoesLoDoNeed” surveys with individuals in the Lower Downtown neighborhood as well as through the website www.WhatDoesLoDoNeed.com, asking what they think the area needs in terms of services and/or retail.

Top Suggestions

More than 3,000 responses have been collected. Top suggestions include a hardware store, youth center, farmers market, local skate shop and grocery store. While Alpine Bank hopes that entrepreneurs will submit business plans for the contest that fulfill these needs, it encourages business plans of any type to enter the contest.

“As a locally-owned and operated bank that prides itself on supporting the entrepreneur community in Colorado, we could not be more excited about the small business contest we are announcing,” Franke said. “We are eager to review the varied and unique business plans that will submit for the opportunity to receive an interest-free loan and look forward to helping the winner achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.”

The new Alpine Bank branch will host a grand opening celebration Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony, radio event, entertainment, food and giveaways. In line with founder Bob Young’s philanthropic focus, Alpine Bank will donate $10 for every new account opened at the new Denver branch that day to Colorado UpLift, a Denver-area nonprofit committed to building long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth. The bank will also make a corporate donation to the organization to celebrate its entrance into the Denver market.
