DENVER — Larkburger President Adam Baker was surprised by the number of social media requests the fast-casual burger concept continually received from hungry out-of-state college students. Often, their tweets were pleas for Larkburger to send burgers and fries by mail to their dorm rooms several states away.
“We have a high level of social media engagement from people — including students — who live outside of Colorado,” Baker said. “A lot of these tweets are from people lamenting that they miss Larkburger and jokingly asking us to send them a burger or some truffle fries.”
Larkburger couldn’t accommodate every request, but the fast-casual burger concept is doing the next best thing: bringing one out-of-state student home to Colorado to enjoy the Centennial state — plus, of course, a meal at Larkburger. Craving Colorado, a promotion sponsored by Larkburger and Colorado-based Frontier Airlines, launched April 22.
To enter, students must submit a video via Facebook or post it to Instagram or Twitter, using #CravingColorado. Contestants must also like or follow Larkburger on the respective sites. Each video should explain what the entrant misses most about the Centennial State while they’re away at school. The contest runs through May 21.
The winner will receive $300 toward a flight home to Colorado from Frontier Airlines, a meal for two at Larkburger and Larkburger gear. The prize pack also contains other Colorado-made goodies, including a pair of sunglasses from Boulder-based Zeal Optics. Each person is limited to one entry. See larkburger.com/entertowin/ for contest rules and more info.
