CU-Boulder chancellor to visit Vail June 6

Phil DiStefano, the chancellor of the University of Colorado Boulder, will be visiting Vail on an outreach tour on Friday, June 6.

CU alumni, parents and the general public are invited to attend a complimentary luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Arrabelle Hotel, Great Room, 675 Lionshead Place. Attendees are asked to RSVP by Friday, May 30 at http://tinyurl.com/ChancellorsTourVail.

DiStefano will talk about the university’s new programs and top priorities, as well as enrollment data and student success stories from the Vail community. DiStefano’s remarks will be followed by a presentation from Dr. David Brain, an assistant professor in the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. Brain will talk about the MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere Volatile EvolutioN) project, the CU-Boulder-led mission to Mars.

CU-Boulder is the only institute in the world to have designed and built space instruments that have been launched to every planet in the solar system, including the dwarf planet, Pluto. CU-Boulder is the No. 1 funded public university in the nation by NASA.
