2 Do: Our picks for top activities today

1. Take a scenic lift ride on Beaver Creek Mountain — With Centennial under construction, Beaver Creek’s Strawberry Park Express Lift (#12) will open today providing an entirely new scenic summer lift ride experience. Scenic summer lift rides will take place daily July 1 to Sept 1, and then weekends only Sept. 6-28, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

2. Check out opening night of the VPAC’s Summer Concert Series — Herman’s Hermits staring Peter Noone will kick off the Vilar Performing Arts Centers’ summer concert series tonight at 8 p.m. At the age of 15, Peter Noone achieved international fame as “Herman,” lead singer of the legendary ‘60s British invasion band Herman’s Hermits. Classic hits including “I’m Into Something Good” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, “I’m Henry VIII, I Am”, “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat” and “There’s A Kind of Hush” catapulted the group to international success. Ultimately, 14 singles and seven albums went gold and Herman’s Hermits have sold more than 60 million recordings.
