EAGLE — Bonfire Dub takes the stage Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Town Park in Eagle to kick off the first free concert in the Moe’s Original ShowDown Town summer concert series. The group’s sounds have become this summer’s staple for concert- and festival-goers throughout Colorado.
Bonfire Dub began as a side project of Scotty Stoughton, a valley local known for his activity in local festivals (Winter Wonder Grass and Campout for the Cause) and entrepreneurial endeavors. The band’s reggae influences are harmoniously polished by twangs and riffs of Americana and folk, with the holistic focus and soulful prerogative that Bonfire Dub holds towards music and the Colorado way of life. With Elephant Revival’s Bridget Law also providing many guest appearances, Bonfire Dub has transformed from a folksy-reggae side-project composed of eclectic sounds and tunes, to a bona-fide musical group that comes together as a solid unit from diverse influences.
Presented by the town of Eagle, ShowDown Town concerts take place Thursday evenings in July and August at 6:30 p.m. with children’s activities also highlighting family friendly evenings in the park. Face painting, balloon animals and character sketches are just a few things to look forward to in addition to the free concerts.
