Roller derby benefit event is Saturday in Eagle

EAGLE — The 10th Mountain Roller Dolls bout against Continental Dividers of the Ark Valley High Rollers is scheduled for Saturday at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. The team will donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to Cohen Strong, a family organization set up to support Cohen Scriver in his fight against neuroblastoma.

Cohen, 3, was diagnosed with stage three neuroblastoma in June. He has an inoperable tumor on his spine and is receiving chemotherapy treatments.

“Cohen has overcome so much already,” his family said in a statement. “He is facing this challenge with force and strength. It is time for the rest of us to get Cohen-Strong!”

The Eagle Pool and Ice Rink located at 1700 Bull Pasture Road. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the action begins at 6 p.m.


Tickets are available online at www.brownpaper tickets.com or from your favorite derby girl. The pre-sale ticket price for adults is $8. Tickets are $10 at the door. Students and seniors pay $5 and children 5 and younger and members of the military are free.

Available concessions include Pazzo’s Pizza, draft beer from the Bonfire Brewery and baked goods made by the team.


The 10th Mountain Roller Dolls are a flat track roller derby league based in Eagle. Membership extends to the neighboring communities of Summit and Garfield counties and the Roaring Fork Valley. For more information, check out www.10thmountainrollerdolls.com
